R

We have a fat robin that shows up every year and does constant battle with himself in the reflection in the basement window. For weeks, the tap, tap, tap of his beak can be heard through out the house. There is a break though, when Jinx decides to curl up on the window sill and dream about grabbing this fat fellow.

What a delightful harbinger of spring. Your color choices and background are perfect for this lovely bird. Funny that the same bird keeps coming back. I don't think I've ever had a robin (or any bird, really) do this, so it is truly undoubtedly the same fellow. At one of the hospitals my husband services, they have swans in their pond. I am told that the male wanders over to a nearby building and does the same thing in the reflective glass...thinking there is a competitor for his partner's affections or his territory.

Dear Paula,
If your robin friend is a nuisance or in danger of injuring himself this site: http://www.leevalley.com/en/garden/page.aspx?c=&cat=2,10719&p=56097 sells a fake spider web that works and being talented I know you could draw one in while on a piece of Saran Wrap and put it on the window. The little ziggy zaggy hour glass in the middle is important.
I love your art work.
